The Daily Choice: VHS Jam Session

by

Post-rapture a wave of awesome videos has fallen from the sky.  No Satan or anything, but seriously, a solid blast of some Daily Choice favorite’s visual output.

Lets start with Julian Lynch (his new album another solid piece of musical composition, continuing to cement him as the most consistently productive musician in the game) and his video for “Ground”:

A truly spacey video for an appropriately epic jam.

Timbre Timbre has been on the edge of my listening for a while now, and this video, a sort of creepy nod to creature features of drive-in pasts has me digging for the full length:

Ganglians dropped “Jungle” a few weeks ago and now here for your viewing pleasure the similarly ghoul oriented video:

The Daily Choice: Julian Lynch – Back

by

Julian Lynch is as mainstay on the pages of The Daily Choice as any artist I can think of and I’m actually kicking myself for waiting so long to post this new track of his upcoming (April 26th) LP Terra.  It has the sort of sparse, worldly intensity I’ve come to love from Mr. Lynch, the tendrils of his voice wrapping around and around themselves with a chunky combo of drum and guitar slowly propelling them forward in to a spaced-out bit of guitar drone.

New Julian Lynch?  Yes.

Terra comes out on Underwater Peoples April 26th.

The Daily Choice: Julian Lynch – Terra

by

Feels like all the old favorites are circling the wagons in these early days of 2011.  The always prolific Julian Lynch isn’t one to miss a wagon-party, so the forthcoming release of his new album Terra comes as no surprise.  The title track off the album is the sort of rambling mix of woodwinds, bongos, synths and good times I’ve come to expect from Julian Lynch.  The light brush of the drums and the haunting blasts of lips-pressed-to-reeds produces a sonic meadow in the midst of a lush, dangerous jungle.  Lions, tigers and bears are out there, fangs revealed, but Julian Lynch is relaxing on a gingham blanket, with a wicker basket full of sandwiches cushioned next to him.

Terra comes out on Underwater Peoples this spring.
