Seattle Rock Orchestra Perform Pet Sounds This Saturday At The Moore
I could lie to you and tell you that I spent my teen years listening to rare punk on vinyl, but I didn’t. I spent my formative music years sitting between my parent’s speakers and listening to what they loved most. I grew up on a steady diet of The Beatles, Neil Young, The Rolling Stones and The Beach Boys. The classics.
So the fact that Seattle’s Rock Orchestra is covering The Beach Boys Pet Sounds in all its orchestral glory and sonic exploration this Saturday is about as exciting news as I can get. I can think of few albums better suited to the unique talents and expansive sound of the Seattle Rock Orchestra. Joining the orchestra on stage and with the difficult challenge of recreating the honey harmonies of The Beach Boys will be Jen Wood, Lesli Wood (of The Redwood Plan), Mychal Cohen (of Campfire OK), Ivan and Alyosha and more.
You can buy your tickets online and we suggest you do, unlike just about every other band playing in Seattle on Saturday, this show is a one-time only event.
