Mexican Summer just put out a co-sampler with there electronically oriented broski Software, and this new non-album track from San Francisco’s The Fresh & Onlys pops up on it. After countless albums from this dependable group, I struggle to say anything new about them, but “Do What I Came To Do” rockets forward with a slinky little baseline and a muscular bit of guitar work as well as some some almost Cars sounding vocals from reigning god of the prolific Tim Cohen. Though not to be featured on the upcoming Mexican Summer debut, whatever session this spawned from is boding well.
