The Daily Choice: Ernie Graham - So Lonely

picture-3

I was feeling all Cat Stevens the other day. You know sort of half-stoned, staring out a late October sky, thinking, “Sure is warm for late October.”  It was a feeling though, a passing wind that came up and across my shoulders and then took off down the alley.   It was a Cat Stevens feeling, a need for his sound, but not him.

When Ernie Graham came slow-sauntering across my tune-box, the feeling shifted a step sideways.  I wasn’t listening to the formerly known as minstrel, but this here was an heir apparent.  The same bluesy vocals of Good Man Stevens wrapped in a stitched beach blanket, a gust of salty air mussing his salt and pepper locks.

Ernie Graham, you are not just a Cat Stevens contemporary, yours is a voice unique, I just found you in a moment of Cat.  Listen with a clean ear good friends, you’ll be rewarded justly.
