About This Website

Sound on the Sound strives to be your day-to-day source for original Northwest-focused music news and original reviews about the local music scene. We feature, interview, photograph and track up-and-coming local bands as well as feature some of the most buzzed about national and international acts. We want to introduce you to your new favorite band. While Sound on the Sound is at it’s heart a DIY rock n’ roll blog, it’s now become something larger: a living chronicle of the rebirth of the Seattle scene.

In a format that no local newspaper or paper magazine provides, Sound on the Sound strives to bring its readers nose to nose with the bands they love, and the bands they don’t know they love yet. Through featured videos, legal downloadable mp3s, up-to-the-minute news, and compelling live reviews, our readers are exposed to the entire spectrum of what the Northwest music scene has to offer: rock, folk, pop and hip-hop, in dive bars, in rock clubs, and in antique theaters.

Our own photographers provide big color pictures of some of the most popular international acts, appearing alongside portraits and in-depth interviews of local bands who are trying to emerge from the tavern scene or the touring indie scene. If it’s happening in Seattle, we want to make sure our readers know about it first. And while the bulk of our coverage is focused on Seattle live music scene, it’s our goal to highlight the rising stars from the entire Northwest music scene, Palmer, AK to San Fransisco, CA.
