About Sound on the Sound
Founded in 2006, Sound on the Sound strives to be a unique primary source for information about the Seattle and Greater Northwest live music scene. We are primarly a rock and roll blog and we are in fact looking to usurp the place of those bi-weekly and monthly treekillers who’s news is literally already so last week. With a stable of enthusiastic writers who like everything from metal to cuddly singer-songwriters we attempt to cover the best of the local scene, where-ever it may be. We review albums, attend live shows, feature rock photography, interview local bands, setup and promote shows and generally ruminate on what’s going on in the vibrant Seattle scene, from the view of people invested in the scene, who have a bit more personal perspective than the average fan who isn’t in the middle of things every week.
FAQ
Where does the name come from?
Well this is a music blog, hence the first “sound” in the name, and we hail from Seattle which is on Puget Sound. Also we also “talk” about music so it kinda has a double meaning.
Who are you people?
We are just regular Joes and Janes who like music and want to expose others to all of the great music, new and old, that’s out there. We don’t typically like the stuff that is on MTV and tend to despise corporate rock. But at the same time we recognize good music when we hear it. We go to as many shows as we can around Seattle and often post reviews of our impressions. We also buy alot of albums, many of them at our favorite local independent record stores such as Sonic Boom Records or Easy Street Records.
