Absolute Monarchs and their album 1 is critically acclaimed. It will be ranked highly on the KEXP “Best Albums of 2012″ list. You listen to everything KEXP tells you to do, therefore I know you will be at this show. Did I mention we’ll be giving away a copy of the Absolute Monarchs album? Now you know.
Constant Lovers and their album True Romance was one of the best albums of 2011. It also had one of the creepiest album covers I have seen in a long time. Anytime you see a male thumb penetrating a bar of soap, unsightly, violent imagery is probably the first thing that will invade your mind. What? The only thing you could come up with was a shower shaving session gone wrong? Dig deeper, pun intended.
Gaytheist, despite having a juvenile band name, are not adolescent in their songwriting by any means. Their album Stealth Beats has burrowed its way into my iphone playlist and hasn’t moved for solid month. One part Torche, one part Quicksand, this supergroup has taught me that judging a book by a cover is a cliche that should not victimize me this late in my life. “Post Apocalyptic Lawsuit”? Yes, please. I want my law firm familiar with the aftermath of a nuclear wasteland. “Pointless-Helpless” describes my personality in two words, hyphen not included.

I will always prefer Star Wars to Star Trek because nobody in the entire George Lucas cinematic universe has EVER been compelled to reason with a massive sentient energy cloud threatening to destroy the galaxy. Star Wars is about Han Solo blowing stuff up. Reasoning with massive sentient energy clouds is a job for Doctor Who. Star Trek can suck it.

Star Wars is better than Star Trek simply on the basis that George built the story for big screen epics and Gene wrote Star Trek for a TV series with a small & recyclable plot structure. Star Wars just lent itself to richer characters, deeper plot and higher-quality visual presentation.

I prefer Star Wars over Star Trek because I would rather have sex with Han Solo than Captain Kirk. Plus Princess Leia kicks ass.

Star Wars triumphs over Star Trek everyday for its attention to special effects. Star Trek for starters has puppets as there aliens, plastic toys as there spaceships, no seatbelts anywhere, and there guns are popguns (which they call lasers).
While Star Wars has Jabba the Hut, Darth Vader, and droids for aliens. Guns and lights savers that still look cool to today’s standards. Lastly seats that keep you in place while your going light speed (which looks real).

i don’t know;cases could be made for both.. star trek had the hotter chicks (sorry leah.. that do was cute though). star wars had the most creative side characters (look at the bar on tatooine alone).. hmm.. tough one.
Star Wars gets the W though.. Let’s hope chop suey has just as many interesting characters in it as above mentioned tatooine bar .. hee hee.

When thinking about the newer movies in both franchises my lady boners are going with Star Wars for Ewan McGregor & Hayden Christensen even though the new Spock Zachary Quinto is WAY lady boner worthy. I j’adore Absolute Monarchs, please say you haven’t already picked a winner even though the show is tomorrow! :B
