It’s fitting that Moon Duo’s new single is entitled “Sleepwalker” as I’ve always viewed there music as a sort of kraut-psych dream. This Wooden Shjips side project has been melting minds and shaking asses with a mix of pulsing bass and fuzzed out guitar walls for going-on three releases now, and it seems that on this, their newest Sacred Bones gem, they’ve only tightened down the bass screws and opened up the hazy noise that defines their sound so aptly. Whatever wellspring of kraut-psych this spaced-out partnership has tapped in to doesn’t seem to be running low. And that, that I can be thankful for.
