Bumbershooting: Oberhofer Rounds the Fountain
Oberhofer’s set at the Sub Pop Stage was nearly done when the springs-in-his-feet frontman Brad Oberhofer asked the crowd whether anyone wanted to jump in the fountain, a Bumbershoot experience every youngster relishes in these waning days of summer. His question wasn’t a joke as moments later (mid-song) he bounded off stage and bee-lined through the crowd, rounding the bowl at a full sprint. One excited fan took up chase but was left in the dust. The seagulls obviously couldn’t have cared less. He continued playing his guitar the whole time.
