High Highs’ “Once Around The House”
The High Highs have been dribbling out a stellar song or two a year for the past few years, but are now promising a full length for early 2013. The video for “Once Around The House” released last week via yourstru.ly is the first new track to appear from the band in a while, and is still playing with the successful recipe of their first four songs, high register harmonizing cutting through a diffuse acoustic atmosphere. In tone they’re placing themselves halfway between an early Grizzly Bear and Fleet Foxes, vaunted bands with real chops, so they’ve got to hope spending these last years perfecting their aesthetic will distinguish them from quickly receiving an indie also-ran status as so many bands are destined for.
