Bhi Bhiman – “Guttersnipe” [video]

by

We’ve been telling you about Bhi Bhiman almost as long as we’ve been writing this website and it would seem, other folks are finally starting to take notice of Bhiman’s soulful take on songwriting and singing. I don’t mean soulful as in “full of faith,” I mean soulful as in “holy hell, where did that smooth ’70s voice come from?”

Yesterday, American Songwriter debuted Bhiman’s video for “Guttersnipe” featuring footage of riding the rails in India. The dichotomy of natural and human beauty and the ravages of poverty and pollution are stark and make the video both visually and emotionally stunning. Of course, in that case stunning, like soulful, mean two different things.

2012 is going to be Bhiman’s year, and I for one, can’t wait to hear it. And if there are more videos like these in his bright future, to see it too.

p.s. You can download an mp3 of “Guttersnipe” from this old Sound on the Sound post.
