The Daily Choice: King Lollipop - Cheeseburger and Fries

Shannon and The Clams are amazing - the boozy backstage antics of your favorite doo-wop star write large - and any side project by Cody of Shannon and The Clams is instantly fired to the starting line of my musical listening.  King Lollipop is pared down Shannon and The Clams with a hint of broken twang injected with the more symphonic croons usually live.  Similarly melodic, similarly on the edge of breaking down, similarly envisaged with tear streaked mascara running down their face and a half drank bottle of vodka in one hand.

Currently it’s just in this preview video form (this entirely creepy preview video form) but if you act fast you can get a pre-ordered copy of it from 1-2-3-4 Records.  Go child go!

The album Woodland Whoopee Songs of ‘Ol Callowhee is out on vinyl soon.
