The Daily Choice: The Routes – Do What’s Right By You

by

The Routes are certainly pushing the homage to 1960s rock ‘n’ roll pretty hard with their pin-point style, the vintage nature of the “Do What’s Right By You” album cover, and of course the plucked-from-the-decade sound they’re bringing. Though they tread a fine line The Routes sound absolutely great, nailing the pelvis thrusting riffs of the era without feeling the need to superimpose the fuzzed out garage so popular these days.  If you want vintage rock ‘n’ roll it’s strange to think that Japan is the place to go right now.

The Routes album Alligator is out now on Dirty Water.
