The Daily Choice: Apollo Ghosts – Shanghai Alley

Another recommendation from the good folk at The Sound of Sweet Nothing. Apollo Ghosts feels like early Bruce Springsteen got himself hands on a particularly fuzzy guitar, a troop of hip-swaying lady singers and a couple of legal notepads scribbled with non-Jersey related lyrics. It is short and sweet and ends on a saxophone’s bluesy wail. I am usually overly-averse to anything deemed Springsteen-related but I can’t shake the comparisons nor the impressive catchiness of this track. Blast it, perhaps old age has finally shaken me and Springsteen love will spill forth from the cracks.
“Shanghai Alley” is from the groups Forgotten Triangle EP but you can enjoy their entire discography on their Bandcamp page.
