This artist-a-day thing is kind of cute, but it kind of breaks the way that people get excited about music festivals. Usually, when presented with a big lineup everyone can find more than a few things that they can’t wait to see. As it is, this slow trickle feels like its deflating the impact of the announcement.

This will only announce 31 acts, all the rest will be announced at the beginning of June. So there will still be an “event” of sorts….

LITTLE DRAGON!

The slow announcement is a neat idea, hopefully it will keep the event fresh in people’s minds as they check back each day. SO far there is no one that I’m too interested in yet but I’ll keep checking back to see who else is announced.

Minus the Bear is the best thing so far, IMO
Leon Russell is pretty effing cool though!

ya’ll are crazy. NOBODY BEATS THE WIZ. NOBODY.

So far it’s all about the classics for me: Leon and Mavis.

Leon should be the best. Think of his medley on “Concert for Bangladesh” (Jumping Jack Flash/Youngblood);the entire “Leon Russel and The Shelter People” album; his cool country album before country was cool, “Hank Wilson’s Back” - all classics. And the recent “The Union”, with Elton John is very good. But…, one of the most disappointing live shows I’ve ever seen, was Leon at The Triple Door where the sound was so loud all nuance was drowned out. Hope he gets the sound right so his light can shine.

Am I completely alone here, but this is looking out to be a terrible bumbershoot … Urge Overkill and PUSA? Atari Teenage Riot? Is it some sort of mid-90s theme?
Toro y Moi is a plus, but can we have at least a taste of refreshing new performers?

Phantogram AND Warpaint, so good.

I’m still baffled. Macklemore and Ryan Lewis - essential for a Seattle Festival these days, but nearly everything else … buh?
