The Daily Choice: Nodzzz - Heyday Past Heyday Due

Nodzzz were a strange gateway band in to my San Francisco life.  I stumbled across their gawky, angular power pop in the rushed moments before I moved my entire life, and their buck-toothed squalor seemed to fit my own awkward transition.  After the sheer joy of their self-titled 12″ on What’s Your Rupture, it’s been a lengthy few years with only a few crumb-like 7″ to help staunch the eagerness for their long-ago announced LP on Woodsist.  Well, it’s here, and it continues in the vein of that which has come before.  Nodzzz have a shocking ability to mix a tetchy, discordant endearment in to fine pop songs a few steps in a different direction then most of their San Francisco brethren are churning out these days.

Innings is out on Woodsist right now.
