And Another Daily Choice: Spectre Folk - The Blackest Medicine

Spectre Folk is Pete Doolan (previously DCed here), drummer for Magik Markers and a player in GHQ, a crafter of parsed down, lo-fi psych-folk.  No better companion could’ve been made for Doolan and his joyfully fuzzed out concoctions then the good folk at Woodsist, the lighthouse on a hill for all things lo-fi and folk.  If anything “The Blackest Medicine”, the first single of Doolan’s upcoming Woodsist EP, shows off the melding of the two creative forces.  Doolan’s chords and wavering voice are still given the opportunity to bob within and without the fog ‘o’ fuzz, but with the sure hands of Woodsist guiding the path, the looser strands are given tentative structure.  There’s a core now in which we can wrap our heads around, a weight anchor that keeps us from floating away.

Spectre Folk’s new EP The Blackest Medicine Vol. 2 releases on March 29th.  All of our wallets will be very empty on March 29th.
