The Daily Choice: Ghost Animal - Golden Boy

This is an explosion of a song.  The 21 year-old Michael Avishay has pulled the pin on a sonic detonation device and hurled it in to the collective ear drums of the blogosphere.  This is a one second fuse, click play and hit the dirt as Avishay gives you no lead in - it’s just grit and grime hurled in to the ether.  Keep listening though, your head quivering buried beneath your hands, Avishay isn’t just a whirling dervish of sonic ruin.  There’s a melody there, a simple tale of anger and pain conveyed quite convincingly beneath the oil-slicked puddle of noise that rests on top.  Once the fallout from the initial blast recedes, this song is truly a catchy number, one pock marked with heated peaks of emotional flare, but none the less, something to head bang to in the car.
