From time to time I’ll think “I’m not really into that musician,” only to realize about a week later that their song or melody has been playing on repeat in my head.  Often times, it is those simple songs that I end up loving most,  because they’re the ones that struck some invisible chord  and took root somewhere deep within, all without your permission or knowledge.

Most recently Nick Jaina‘s “Days In My Room” hooked me when I wasn’t looking. The song is one part Rufus Wainwright, one part Jeff Buckley and as one would expect with those comparisons, it is achingly lovely and absolutely addicting. Nick is releasing a new record next week (April 13th), A Bird in the Opera House.  And if the rest of the album is anywhere near as good as “Days In My Room,” it’s bound to get a lot of play here at Sound on the Sound both on traditional speakers and in our heads.
