The Daily Choice: Eddy Current Suppression Ring - Anxiety

The new album from Eddy Current Suppression Ring (Rest to Relax) is full of the trademarks, this soon-to-be-bigger Aussie band is known for.  Punchy bass lines, rangy Aussie accents, and a sort of drunk-as-piss deadpan delivery you have to love.  This could be enough for any fan, but these boys from Down Under have brought some new tools the Outback.

These being a wild need for experimentation and the sort of track-length needed to do so.  Though “Anxiety” is impressive because it just hurdles along at break-neck speed, tracks like “I Got A Feeling” and “Second Guessing” take a whole different tack.  Dropping the punk-rock status quo, to wind in some seriously psych-rock feeling guitar drone.

Any way you want it, that’s the way you need it.
