NOISE POP Preview: Citay @ Cafe Du Nord 2/25

Let us continue the previewing of Noise Pop, San Francisco’s big February festival that brings a ton of local acts and their national counterparts out of the woodwork.

When?: Thursday, February 25th

Where?: The romantic nooks of Cafe Du Nord

What?: Citay, Scout Niblett, Greg Ashley and Tape Deck Mountain.  Just a night of big old guitar noodling pseudo-psych.  It’ll lightly and lovingly blow your mind.

Why?: Though I’m not nearly as fond of Citay’s new release, Dream Get Together, their Final Fantasy album from a few years back spent many a lonely nights rocking me to sleep in the days before I caravanned to San Francisco.  This is big, epic, near-instrumental psych-guitar goodness and I can’t wait to catch this eight (nine?) piece band just tear in to on stage.  Toss in up-and-coming weirdos Tape Deck Mountain as an early opener and my night is revved and ready.

What Else?: If psych-rock isn’t your jam, go check out the supposedly amazing documentary, The Heart Is A Drum Machine.

Listen Up!

Citay - First Fantasy
Tape Deck Mountain - In The Dirt

Seattle:  Scout Niblett will be at The Sunset Tavern with Holy Sons on 3/27
