Our Favorite Photos of 2009: Mad Rad at Sasquatch

Love ‘em or hate ‘em Mad Rad made an indelible mark on local music in 2009. Even if you’d never heard a Mad Rad song or attended a Mad Rad show, you knew the band’s name. I’m pretty sure my parents know the band’s name. Their 2009 was a collision course to redemption, having started ‘09 being ousted from local venues and by the end of ‘09 being (literally) embraced by the future Mayor of Seattle and asked back to seemingly every venue that had banned them. Love ‘em or hate ‘em — Mad Rad was a phenomenon in ‘09 and considering there are no better self-promoters in town, their reign as the resident bad boys of Party Mountain won’t be ending on December 31st, 2009.
In celebration of their redemption and successes Mad Rad and Out For Stardom are throwing a Free show on January 21st at Neumos. The show is being billed as Mad Rad and Friends, which is promising indeed. Knowing full well what Mad Rad is capable of, we suspect it will be a spectacle you won’t want to miss.
