Macklemore - “The Town” [video]

I don’t think we’ve ever had so many near-consecutive posts praising an artist on Sound on the Sound…but we would be seriously remiss to not post this celebration of local hip hop and Seattle. 

Just released today, Macklemore’s video for “The Town” (one of my favorite songs of 2009) is absolutely beautiful. It’s been around for mere hours and I don’t feel it’s hyperbole when I say it’s one of my favorite videos of 2009.  Congrats to Macklemore, video producer Zia Mohajerjasbi, and 206 Hip Hop — you all deserve to be celebrated for this. Seems a fitting tribute to end a triumphant year for local hip hop.
