The Daily Choice: Reading Rainbow - Sun Is Out

I was poking around the interwebs for Christmas related songs, but turns out I hate Christmas music even if it is filtered through some sort of indie-flavored synthesizer. Instead I found Reading Rainbow, a band I like for these reasons:
1. Their name reminds me of the magical moments I spent with one Lavar Burton taking looks inside books. Later Lavar would done the lazer shades of Geordie Laforge and Reading Rainbow would become a distant memory. But those afternoons with Lavar were some of my favorites.
2. The cover features a drawn image of a bear and a tiger horfing out what appear to be rainbows. Any cover that has wild animals horfing on things instantaneously gets shot to the top of things I like. Take note of that publicists - Noah enjoys barfing animals.
3. There’s a mixing of beauty and grime on this song, “Sun Is Out” and every other song on this album, Mystical Participation that makes me think of a taking a relaxing dip in three week old bath water. There might be a layer of grease hanging out on the surface, but damn if that tepid water doesn’t make my back feel better.
