The Daily Choice: Baby Birds Don’t Drink Milk - Train Fuzz

On occasion, and this is in the spirit of transparency, I think I can be a bit conservative in my perusal of the seemingly endless stacks of “This Band Is Awesome” emails that I receive from the gobs of good PR people employed these days. If it’s not from a source I’ve been wowed by in the past, I tend to stray away, to hit trash before even considering peeking inside. You, amazing PR people of the world, I understand your struggle and I apologize for itchy trashing finger.
That said, I’m quite pleasantly surprised that I clicked upon this email regarding Lawrence, Kansas collective Baby Birds Don’ Drink Milk. Why, I can’t say, but the four track tour-EP that was nestled within sort of knocked me on my skinny ass. It’s a strange formula these verbosely monikered Kansan’s concoct: one part scrawny indie rock, another part epic rock and roll, all held together by a sort of psych-infused echo chamber set of vocals. I find myself listening to this song, “Train Fuzz” a good deal, plumbing its depths for the secret of its success.
This one goes out to the hardworking publicists. It’s as important a job as it is difficult.

I just came across your blog through an article at groovemine.com. You make a good point here, that as music blogs grow their impact on the music industry, you become that much of a greater gatekeeper to good music. Must be a tough job to break through the clutter, even with just an intriguing email title.
