The Daily Choice: King Khan & The BBQ Show - Anala

I’m almost too excited about a new King Khan & The BBQ Show it’s hard to write. Shaky fingers and all.
There’s a strangeness, perhaps a newness, to the new album that I can’t wrap my head entirely around yet. “Anala”, the song I’ve decided to share with you the discerning readers of Sound on the Sound, feels like King Khan & The BBQ Show recorded in a egg-shelled sound closet. There might be a parent upstairs, but the music, it has to come. So Sir Khan and Sir BBQ Show start out low, letting their voices collude. But with the rhythm kicking and the guitar lightly blasting, the two just can’t keep it down, and as each bar is written, the voices just get louder and louder. The parents are awake, but their feet are tapping, and King Khan & The BBQ Show are busting down the closet door and fans are streaming in and there’s confetti. A whole heaping fucking wad of confetti.
Yup, pretty excited.
