I was a the Blue Moon myself. Lot’s of friends were there. I had a good time. That’s not really what this post is about though. What we’re really talking about is the free track from the San Fransisco band Photons second EP, the GLORY! EP, which dropped this week at Insound.

Featuring eight members, and a selection of instruments that one might not usually associate with rock (bassoon for instance), the Photons are a veritable modern indie rock orchestra firmly planted on the modern rock side of the equation, with a dash of playfulness in the harmonies to add some levity and fun to the situation. The GLORY! EP, which is the first of three releases the band has planned for 2009, will appear in stores and digital retailers nationwide June 23.
