Pearl Jam planning a small US tour for September, rumored to be headlining ACL

A missive from the Ten Club arrived to members the other day reminding them to update their membership information. Our ten club correspondent Becca says that when that happens, usually tour news is on the horizon.

Rumors then began to surface that the band would be headlining ACL, along with the Dave Matthews Band and the Beastie Boys. Austin Sound Check then supposedly confirmed by another source that the Pearl Jam would be headlining the ACL festival.

Sure enough, last Friday, Mike McCready went on an old-fashioned radio show, Ron & Don Show on Seattle’s KIRO 97.3fm radio to be exact, to drop the news to the masses that the band is already in the midst of recording the next Pearl Jam album, and they are planning a small U.S. tour in mid-September. An ACL headlining date would certainly fit in with that schedule.

Bumbershoot is in September too. Wouldn’t that be money? The biggest hometown band headlining the biggest hometown festival. I like the sound of that.

No official news of a tour via the band’s official website has been posted yet.
