Noah Recommends: Virgin of the Birds @ McLeod Residence

I gave you guys a taste of Jon Rooney a week or so again when I posted the track “Two Horses” by his now defunct Bay Area group Morning Spy, but that’s not all.  As I stated earlier, Jon and I had a marathon-style interview that I’ll be posting at some point, but for now I just want to direct you sorry sacs to his very acoustic performance TONIGHT tomorrow night at the McLeod Residence.  Mr. Rooney will be performing as Virgin of the Birds and taking part in Levi Fullers’ excellent Softly Now Series, an ongoing concert series that focuses on quieter, more acoustic stylings.  From everything I’ve heard it’s a powerful evening of very pretty music, and I implore you to go check it out.

If Jon is correct, this shit starts at EXACTLY 8 on the dot.  Virgin of the Birds play first, so you’ll want to be there early.  Jon would also like anyone attending to know that, “this will be my first show since I’ve begun citing Procol Harum as an influence.  Volume will be on the low side but guitars will be electric.  Reverb will be applied.”  Sounds intriguing, don’t it?

An MP3 to further wet your pallet:

Also if you’re interested, Jon’s Muxtape can be found HERE and it features a ton of cool demos and unreleased tracks.
