A Sub Pop Records 20th Anniversary Festival?!

by

Care of the Denver Post we’re given a couple of news nugget’s regarding Sub Pop’s 20th Anniversary Celebration to happen in July. The first notable piece of news being that it may be a “Festival.” Maybe it’s just a name vs. meaning situation with the writer, but it being capitalized an such makes me believe that in fact that is the name of the event, and it will be larger than we had imagined.

The second piece of news is that the that The Fluid, Sub Pop’s first non-local signing is confirmed to reunite for the show (or “festival” as it may be), adding to Green River’s promise to do the same. Here’s the operative graphs:

Mile High City punk act the Fluid, the first non-Seattle act to be signed by influential label Sub Pop, will reunite in July to play Sub Pop Records’ 20th Anniversary Festival in Seattle — and at a June 20 date in Denver.

Formed in 1985, the Fluid featured vocalist John Robinson, drummer Garrett Shavlik, bassist Matt Bischoff, and guitarists James Clower and Rick Kulwicki.

All the original members will be playing the reunion shows.
