Mistaken for Lyrics
Yesterday, I was singing along to The National’s “Racing Like A Pro,” when I realized I was doing something horribly wrong. All these months, I’ve sang “your mind is racing like a pro-noun” rather than “racing like a pro, now.” Oops.

Digg This!

Ha ha!!! Me too!!!
I’ll share one of my most infamous misquotes to make you feel better:
“And the boys, let the boys”
instead of “and the porch, let the porch” from Pearl Jam’s “Porch”.
My excuse though, is no one knows what the hell Eddie’s singing half the time anyway.

one wonders how a pro-noun races?

I TOTALLY DID THE SAME THING, but i caught it early.
“one time, you were a glowing young ruffian. oh my god, that was a million years ago.”

Oh my god. Me too. Then one day I turned to my girlfriend and said, “I’ll have to look at the lyrics to that song… I wonder what ‘racing like a pronoun’ means.

Frankly, I liked it better when I thought it was ‘racing like a pronoun’. Of course, I went to school for linguistics so I’m geeky like that. Still love the song, though.
