Late Week NW News

Vera Project Grand Opening! The Vera Project will be hosting free shows Friday, Saturday and Sunday in honor of their new space at Seattle Center. Tonight their hosting one of the best hip hop acts in town, Common Market.

Music of Nirvana, The Thermals to appear in video game. A number of other recent indie it bands are also featured including Tapes n’ Tapes, the Pixies and Wolfmother. Pitchfork has the goods. The Thermals have turned down $50,000 before for a song to appear in a Hummer commercial describing such a move as “evil.” I guess this isn’t. I’m sure Krist would disagree though.

KEXP begins their pledge drive tonight. Kick down a few bucks for the best radio station in the world, so they can keep introducing us to some of the best independent music out there.
