…but I’ve Always Wanted to Act…

First a major label and now Ben Gibbard is going all Hollywood on us?

From Pitchfork: “(Gibbard) has a role in the big-screen adaptation of David Foster Wallace’s short story collection Brief Interviews With Hideous Men, directed by John Krasinski, aka Jim from the American version of The Office.”" Apparently, according to my imdb.com ‘research,’ he’s playing a character named Harry and will be surrounded by fellow thespians like “some guy from Snakes on a Plane.”

Oh Pitchfork- you’re on fire today! Postal Service Cheats on USPS- with UPS! SOTS got in a big discussion this weekend when we spied the UPS commercial feturing none other than Ben Gibbard’s The Postal Service. We thought we remembered something about the deal they struck with the USPS during that whole cease-and-desist debacle… something about cross marketing rights. Now, you’re being used by their chief competitior?!? Do you have something against the US Postal Service? Do you have no shame sirs?! We wonder if the Post Master General is going to do some regulating on our most-missed-indie-side-project? Because, we might pay to see something like that.
